Playing a variety of music in a designated nightclub onboard, Disc Jockey's may also perform limited VJ duties. DJ's are responsible for entertaining guests by accommodating song requests made by guests. The position of Disc Jockey is well suited to Americans due to the social and verbal requirements related to guest interaction and musical enjoyment. The position offers several advantages including staff accommodations and "Guest Status" which allows DJ's to participate and enjoy guest facilities while interacting with guests onboard.

Emcee of Events including but not limited to Events and Activities in the NightClub

21 yrs old, minimum age requirement (must be 20 yrs old to take the CSCA courses)
Minimum one year professional DJ experience (wedding reception experience a plus)
Speak, Read and Write English
High School Diploma or a GED
Outgoing personality
Able-bodied Seaman |

Onboard pay ranges by cruise line and position. Normally new applicants are offered entry level positions with entry level pay. When considering a career at sea many candidates make a critical mistake by not considering monthly living expenses versus their salary at sea. Cruise Ship salaries / wages may offer more than half of your current pay rate but crunching the numbers can bring you an eye opening bottom line allowing for a comfortable cost of living scenario. The following items are a general list of costs not incurred while at sea. |

For a quick comparison consider the weekly amount left for savings and personal spending. Depending on an individuals financial responsibilities wages at sea can all be used towards savings or personal spending. Adding your monthly expenses to wages is a more accurate rate of pay while at sea.
Many Management positions can offer substantial salaries and bonuses, some cruise lines offer vacation pay to managers at the same rate of pay while onboard (vacations commonly last two months). American’s can also benefit from tax savings not available when working on land. Almost every cruise line offers retirement plans. Career minded applicants can succeed financially well beyond land based salaries, onboard management positions take years of dedication and hard work to achieve and provide a rewarding career.
